Paddock Players: TOP COMMUNITY Apps

The Tech Equestrian had the honor of presenting at the annual American Horse Council Meeting in June which included highlighting the top apps and online resources in horse tech. In order to share the findings, we will publish a series of blog posts that review the top ‘paddock players’ in the major categories to help you find the best horse tech solutions for your needs.

Top ‘Community’ Apps
I’d like to start by saying there is no rhyme or reason for the order in which we feature each category, but I do admit that I’m a big fan of this category because it offers many robust features and all of them offer ‘free’ options. We encourage you to check each one out by downloading for free and taking them for a test drive.

The Equestrian App
A pioneer in this space, creator and developer, Patrick Husting originally created the app for family and friends and soon discovered a strong need in introducing a full-feature platform/app
for both owners and businesses. From basic features to connecting a community of professionals that can service the horse (gain access to the largest database of boarding/stables and service professionals around the world) along with a robust messaging (group barn chat) feature and so much more. New functionality and features added routinely. Plans range from ‘free forever’ to ‘Platinum’ for Equine Businesses.

The HorseNet.com
Back in 2021 we caught up with founder, Marsha Martin as she shared the goal of creating The HorseNet:
“Our goal was to create a full-featured platform and app that is affordable and adds value to equestrians from all disciplines,” stated Marsha. The feature rich site offers three categories to help you navigate what you are looking for. “The marketplace offers a search and filter functionality to make it easy to locate everything from barn equipment to trailers and everything in between,” said Marsha. Event listings are clearly categorized and offer a broad range to choose from along with location mapping. The third area of the site is marked ‘Locate Businesses’ and provides a robust list of suppliers and service providers. (Online and app format for Android (iOS is in development)

LiveEQ was featured in the Vol II 2024 issue of the World Equestrian Center Magazine.

LiveEQ
The most recent newcomer in the paddock - LiveEQ was developed to help solve the issue of providing access to horse management and the community by connecting professionals in the industry and making it affordable. Founder, Anne Hawkins shared that the app allows users to post horses for sale, job opportunities, and barn-related listings combined with advanced filtering to give you the results you are looking for. Most recently they launched a ‘SHOP’ feature straight from your favorite equine creators. The app is free and user-friendly and is available for download on the App Store or Google Play. Also, don’t miss the feature article in the recent World Equestrian Center Magazine highlighting Anne’s solution plus her vision for the future of horse tech.
