As we approach the end of one of the most turbulent years on record, I thought it was time to take a deep breath and focus on ‘giving back’ which coincides with the traditions of the Thanksgiving holiday. When I was growing up, each year my father would ask me and my siblings – one simple question – ‘What are you most thankful for this year?” In unison (this year especially) we would say our health and then for me – horseback riding – because it truly is one of the most gratifying experiences (on so many levels) I can recall. With that in mind, I asked The Tech Equestrian Advisory board the following two-part question to help get everyone in the holiday spirit of giving back…

In the tech world, data is sacred and there are many bad actors that want to misuse and steal your data for monetary reasons. With personal data widely available online, we asked The Tech Equestrian board members two questions: 1) How does your company protect your subscribers/customers data when they download your app or visit your website? and 2) What would you recommend equestrians do to protect their data and their horses data?
Read MoreSeptember is a month that offers a fresh start as schools open their doors (or at least ‘virtual’ ones) and students become one with the learning experience. At The Tech Equestrian, learning leads to evolving which is at the core of technology, so we asked our esteemed Advisory Board: What are your favorite resources for learning more about horses? Your business? Technology? Please include at least 3 sources and name(s) of books; online resources; videos and more - and include reasons why.

From how to prevent the disease (six feet, masks, washing) to percentage of exposure and chances of the next hotspot. We live in extremely difficult times – and even with technology, you can easily get overwhelmed with consuming too much information and confused on how to interpret. With all of the data drama playing out on a large scale, we wanted to ask The Tech Equestrian Advisory Board two questions on how data is used in the horse world…
There are many necessities when it comes to owning a horse and making sure you have a the most up-to-date health information tops many an equestrians list. The Tech Equestrian is always exploring what’s new and what’s next as it relates to horse tech and recently had the opportunity to speak with Barbara Blasko, founder and owner of Electronic Vet (eVet) to learn first-hand on how her product makes being a vet and managing vaccines as a horse owner seamless, accurate and worry-free.

In our riding, transitions are critical to managing a horse’s balance, collection and alertness – although the concept is simple, progression may be hard. The same applies to integrating and understanding technology and its benefits applied to our equine partners. What exactly does digital transformation mean and how does it apply to the horse world? First, let’s define it and then ask our experts on the TTE advisory board how it is being integrated into everything horse related.

I’m sure you’ve heard this question from your trainer as you progress on something you are working on improving - and we know improving anything when it comes to riding is a journey! So with that in mind, I asked The Tech Equestrian Advisory Board for their thoughts as it pertains to horse tech adoption during these challenging times. This was the 2-part question:

However, in the horse world, unfortunately that is not as common, but thanks to a new environmental initiative called “Green Is the New Blue” created by lifelong equestrian, Stephanie Bulger, that is about to change. The Tech Equestrian had a chance to catch up with Stephanie recently to share her ideas, plans and overall focus of the organization.
Read MoreApril is typically a very busy start to the spring horse show season; however, we have been reminded of how quickly life can change, especially this year. With the turmoil and uncertainty the COVID-19 pandemic has created it is natural to question everything and look for signs of hope. This month I asked the TTE board their thoughts on the impact of the pandemic on the horse industry along with what I think will spur more growth and reliance on technology in the coming months and years.

As we practice shelter in place, social distancing and hyper-focused hygiene I wanted to share photos I captured each weekend of the Winter Equestrian Festival (otherwise known as WEF) to showcase all of the outstanding competitors that make this event a ‘must-attend’ for all. It is always a great time to be immersed in horse sport and even though it was cut short this year - the beauty and athletisim is amazing to experience.
