PROSPEQS: Your Daily Digital Ride Assistant
Growing up in Southern California in a horse-riding family was how Catherine Brock was introduced to the horse world. Now, as an amateur equestrian and founder of Prospeqs – a digital journal app – Catherine wants to share how her app is making strides in her training and hopes to encourage other riders to try it and achieve success with their goals.
Seeking a Solution
“My other go to sport is running and there are numerous apps available for runners to track training, runs and overall endurance and I couldn’t find anything like that for equestrians,” shared Catherine. With all the videos, photos and notes she had taken and recorded for her horse, she knew there had to be a better way to track this information. Catherine started asking fellow equestrians how they organized this type of detail and most people had it all over the place. “I came up with the idea for the app in 2018 and a year later launched a basic version,” she said.

Catherine’s background is in user experience design, so creating an app and focusing on the user experience was natural for her. The app is free to download and use and there is a premium subscription for a nominal monthly fee, or you can purchase a lifetime subscription. The core product has these top features:

Create a contact list and then easily share videos and photos of your rides, competitions or more. Anyone on your contact list and then easily share media they took of you.
2) Video and Photo Sharing
Instead of spending time scrolling through your phone or computer, use the app to store your videos and photos of time in the saddle.
3) Ride Journal
Create a digital log that keeps track of your notes, photos, and videos. Easy access to your notes will help you keep track of your goals.
4) Chat Function
Keep your training chats all stored in the app for easy reference and reminders. Access photos and videos within the app to share with your trainer.
5) Gamification – earn points for prizes
We all like some added motivation and once you get in the habit of tracking your rides with the Prospeqs app you can earn points that you can redeem for gift cards and other items.

“There are two groups of users that I’ve geared the app to,” said Catherine. “Amateur riders and young riders – each have their own focus areas but overall will receive tremendous value out of using the app for their training goals.” Catherine finds that many equestrians are excited to try the app to help with managing and organizing their training to keep them focused on achieving their goals.
Out and About
Catherine plans to go to many horse shows in the coming months to connect with more riders on how they're using Prospeqs and how'd they'd like to. “I find spending time with users is invaluable to gain insight on what they find useful and what needs fine-tuning.” She is planning to provide a new layout with even more organization features for the app over the summer.
“In five years, I hope we can close the gap on equestrians using technology. Just like in the consumer world, you need to make it easy for people to use and once that picks up steam, adoption will follow.”
